Disappointing writing experience

The nib felt the same as a steel nib. Bought it to replace a Conklin nib but was disappointed by its stiff feel and scratchiness. The Conklin wrote smooth and the flow was perfect. I have a Bock titanium nib and that one is grey compared to Monteverde's shiny chrome look. The Bock titanium has a bouncy feel and effortless light flexing.
