Great Wedding Gift

I was waiting to write this review until after my friend's wedding. Along with the Global set, I offered some lessons in how to use and care for their new knives. I don't own any Global knives in my own collection. But after watching the video "The 5 Best FIRST Japanese Chef's Knives" in the Cutlery and More Youtube channel, I chose Global for this couple that is just starting out since they seem to be a little bit more forgiving compared to harder steel Japanese knives. And they have little experience in the kitchen. I must say that when they came over to learn how to use the knives I was pleased with the feel of the handle and the weight and balance. They had a great time practicing cuts on carrots, onions, tomatoes, green peppers and a few other vegetables. They went home happy with their new set. By the way, I have already purchased a Global 6" Serrated Utility Knife to give them at Christmas. Along with this set they then will have the basic knives they need as they develop their cooking skills. As always, Cutlery and More is great with packing and prompt shipping.

Perfect for me

I am a short woman with small hands. My chef son in law recommended them, as the grips are too small for him but good knives. They are light, sharp, and just the right size. For context, I wear a size 5 ring and small nitrile gloves.
