Vg- max vs vg10
Really haven't noticed a difference. So far edge retention is up to par along with my vg 10 knives. Will update later. Others great set of knifes.

Premium Product, Excellent Price
Shun knives are a pleasure to encounter and a joy to use. They are thoughtfully designed and superbly produced. There are those who prefer flexibility in a fillet knife, but flexibility is difficult to achieve with the many-layered approach featured by Shun. To offset this feature, the knives can also be used for tasks such as boning that require greater rigidity. In any event, a knife with a six-inch blade is intended for use fish of two or three pounds. Flexibility is not essential. I am very happy with this purchase.
