Absolute Improvement
These strings are so much better than my previous strings! I have a reminder to buy again in 6 months! Oh, and I am a mere beginner and appreciate the improved sound.

Really love the broad sound and such ease to play.

I wanted to love these strings...
Because good strings are so expensive, I research them quite a lot before buying. When the Dynamo strings came out about a year ago, I was intrigued, but didn't buy a set for a few months. I've now been playing on these strings for a few months and have been a little disappointed. Sometimes the sound is wonderfully rich and complex, but then occasionally it just goes dead - especially on the A string. Lately the dead, flat sound is getting more common and occurring on the D and G strings also, so I'll be changing these strings out soon. For the price, I'd hoped they would last longer and sound better. I play daily for an hour or more, and have had previous strings that lasted much longer than these seem to have (I typically get a year out of a set of Obligatos). Obviously, the trifecta of strings, instrument and bow together make the sound, so my experience is probably (and appears to be, based on other reviews) quite different from that of other reviewers. My instrument is a handmade violin from the exceptional maker Jamie Herrmann, my bow an excellent pernambuco bow made by Ken Altman. I have been using Obligato strings for a few years and will be returning to those when I change out the Dynamo. For the record, I have not tried these strings on my other two instruments, a 2014 Ming Jiang Zhu 916 and a 1942 Wilkanowski, so I don't know if the Dynamo would have sounded better on these instruments or not.
