Bass? Yes, please!
I do understand why people use the qualifier 'for the price' with this headphone. It's hard not to, but I'll try.
It's been touched on before, but where these headphones shine is in bass. Bass is good in about every way, and more importantly for me, can be cranked to 11 to satisfy my basshead proclivities, although I don't stay there - I just occasionally increase the bass shelf if I need a few minutes of bass therapy. I would offer for consideration that the bass of this headphone is very good for any headphone at any price.
The mids are also fairly good for closed back headphones at any price. Certainly they're not excellent, but good, especially 'at this price'.
And yes, the 'weak' point is treble which, if I'm being honest, is just fair when looking at headphones of any price.
Personally I find the comfort pretty good. For me, cup size is probably the biggest factor in comfort. There is enough room for my ears in the cups, and my ears do not touch the baffle, which they do (very, very slightly) with the DCA Aeon Noire X. Clamp force is about perfect, and I don't really feel that the headband padding is inadequate. Cup pads certainly aren't premium, but they don't bother me personally.
As for build quality, mine came with the studs connecting the cups to the headband, so I do not have the issues some have reported with the ones that use screws here. With this is mind, build quality is consistent with the price point, and I have no concerns with longevity.
Comparison with 620S (subjective): Frankly I like the FT-1's better. I enjoy the FT-1 sound more. 620s isolation is better. Comfort is about the same, although I feel the FT-1 might run a little cooler.
Comparison with DCA ANX (subjective): Depending on the genre, the FT-1 can be more fun to listen to. Obviously for 'technicalities' the DCA wins, except in most aspects of bass. Comfort is about the same, although with a slight nod to the FT-1. Note, I don't know if I would be happy with just the FT-1 and not the DCA for my closed back needs. But with that said, I'm not sure that I would be entirely happy with just the DCA and not the FT-1 now that I have both.
