For the money, I don't believe there is much competition. These make basically everything I play through them sound mid range rich and warm. The highs have power and the lows are balanced. I've tested with quite a bit of heavy low-end electronic and they never sound boomy or blown out. I think their tuning won't allow it. My HD300Pros are noticably less lively I would say. These are my first pair of non studio headphones so I wasn't sure what to expect. Crispy sound and not too heavy on the head either. Comes with cables and a case and that value is just insane. Don't think, just buy them.
