A must-have pattern

I have made two classic shirts already so I can confidently say that it is a well thought out, well drafted pattern and one of the best pattern investment I have made so far. The instructions are clear and comprehensive and it gives just the right amount of "hand holding". I love that it can be finished with french seams all the way which adds to the integrity of the garment. I enjoy wearing my classic shirts and I can't wait to make more.

An Excellent Pattern

I started garment sewing 4 years ago and made my first Modern Sewing Co. pattern last summer - the Classic Shirt - with some fantastic fabric from Stone Mountain & Daughters. This is one of my favorite makes of 2025 that is now a staple of my work wardrobe! I love the details of the pattern - French seams, clear directions, etc., and I had a great time seeing if I could pattern match the fabric's polka dots :-).

Absolutely lovely shirt pattern!

I bought this pattern hoping to learn some new sewing skills and techniques- and to have a beautiful hand made shirt as a result! The pattern went together really well and the detailed instructions were so easy to follow. I used a lovely soft pale yellow linen to make my shirt and was so delighted with it that I have three more lots of fabric ready to make some more shirts! The next ones will be pretty floral fabrics so I’ll take my time to ensure I pattern match the fabric! Delighted with this pattern and will definitely be using other modern sewing company patterns - I already have a coat pattern waiting to be made!
