Jaime Jacket review
This was my first attempt at a workwear style jacket. This pattern stood out from all the others because of the amazingly clever double-access pockets. Sewing with 13.5 oz. denim fabric proved a bit of a challenge when I decided to attempt the "run and fell option" when attaching the sleeves to the main body - but I appreciate the clean lines & feel it was worth the attempt! This is a great option for either a man or a woman. I made the "medium" which is a bit roomy for me but works well on my son. I appreciate both patterns I have made from The Modern Sewing Co. and look forward to making more of them :)

Making a women's Jamie version
I made Jamie jacket for myself, being a bit unsure about choosing a unisex pattern. I adapted It by grading and that went fine for my height and small shoulders. It was my first time making flat felled seams. I took my time, practiced before and they turned out nicely. I recommend it for experienced sewists that like a classic fit.

Lovely Pattern
I’ve found the jacket really enjoyable to make. The instructions are clear and easy to follow if you’re experienced.
I did find it difficult, when cutting out the pattern pieces, to see which notches related to which size. Whilst sewing I realised that I was missing notches on my pieces.
The only other little thing is on the instruction page starting with step 33, the layout of the illustrations and text is confusing as it’s different than previous pages. On the previous pages, the steps are read from left to right, each with the illustration at the top and the text beneath. However on this page, steps 34 and 35 are meant to be read top to bottom, which was confusing to me. It meant I did step 35 before 34 by mistake.
I love how it’s turned out, and I can’t wait to gift it to my husband Jamie for his birthday :)
