Description
Corchorus olitorius. Also known as Egyptian Spinach or Jute Mallow, these plants are easy to grow and love the sun...they are not bothered in the least by the summer heat, even in the low desert. Pretty shrubs can grow 3 feet tall or more...

Wonderful!
I didnt get very good germination but this might be because i planted them in very poor soil in the middle of june and it was hot!! But i did get quite a few plants that popped up!! They are growing very well despite the poor soil (caliche with a little bit of bokashi buried in) and mulch on top. I love to pull the young leaves to snack on and looking forward to collect the seeds. They also seem to do well even in very dry soil. I definitely recommend for hot and dry places.

Sow directly
Tried to start indoors twice, very poor germination. Tried a third time, showing directly outdoors when the weather warmed 100 germination.
