I wanted a syringe to be able to accurately measure small doses of liquid medicine. The ones I found at my local drugstores were very affordable, but flimsy, and the markings wore off quickly so you couldn't read the dose. Carex syringes last longer, and also come with a stopper for the medicine bottle that makes it much easier to fill the syringe. They still need to be replaced frequently, but they'r a big improvement over the others I've tried.
