Four hours into a long run or big day in the mountains, your gut starts talking back. The sweet synthetic gels that worked fine in hour one are the last thing you want to look at in hour four. Here's what the most experienced trail athletes know: your palate — and your stomach — will thank you when you've got real food in the rotation.

Good!
Recommend these for hiking. Hi caloric density for the weight and size. My only complaint is that the packing is a little too wide and the sharp edges cut my cheeks when I’m trying to squeeze in every last drop.

Great fuel, great taste
My only object is, the coffee flavor is actually coffee grounds. Not great texture, plus it gets caught in your teeth.

Not for cycling at all
I bought these and could not be less happy, I’m just trying to use them up at this point. I honestly could not believe how gross the dark chocolate coffee flavor is. That one I actually threw in the trash it was so bad. Plus you have to have them in your jersey because they rely on your body heat to get them anywhere worth squeezable. I will not be purchasing these again.
