I’m 6’0”, 160 lbs, and wear a Medium. I’m a Large in Filson. This vest is more tailored, more functional, and better suited for movement than the Filson Western Vest. The pockets fit more than a theoretical pocket watch. I returned the Large Filson Western Vest after measuring it against the WeatherWool size chart. I was prepared to return this vest if it didn’t live up to expectations. Instead, I forgot I was wearing it while covering books at a library fundraiser during a sudden rainstorm.

Worth every penny. Soft dense wool, slot buttons, functional collar. This may be the perfect cold weather vest.

Just perfect

This vest is outstanding. I'm 63 years old and am 5'9" and 225lbs. Short, stout old guy, with not an athletic build. This denim XL vest fits the way its supposed to fit, close to the torso, but not tight, with a dapper vibe about it. I own an Al's midweight Anorak in XL and it's a little on the roomy side, for context. I think it's going to wear a little on the warm side, which is what I was hoping for. I'm in the St Louis area and I believe that I can wear this as my only outer garment, paired with a flannel shirt, for most of the winter. The length is perfect. Looks good unbuttoned as well. Nicely placed pockets. I really like the inside zip pockets on each side. I will wear the heck out of this thing, beginning this Fall. Thank you Ralph and Alex!
