Go a size up if you plan on layering with it. This jacket is worth every penny! Fits great, you can feel the craftsmanship in every movement. If you have never had a wax jacket, you will get use to the smell in a day or two. Plan on buying another one soon.

Hm. Outstanding quality and craftsmanship. The jacket looks even better in person than in the photos rugged, comfortable, and clearly built to last for many years. The waxed cotton gives it a distinctive character, and it develops a beautiful patina with wear. The only thing to be aware of is that, when new, it has a generous amount of surface wax (smells like technical oil), so it may transfer slightly onto light-colored clothing or car seats. This is completely normal for a premium waxed cotton jacket and improves after a few weeks of regular wear. If you’re looking for an authentic, timeless field jacket that will age beautifully, the Filson Short Lined Cruiser is an outstanding choice. It’s a pity but it was made not in US ;(
