The journey that led me here is simple. After years of using any cheap cutting board I could find, often made from bamboo, I realized that they were all cracked, splintered and chipped. Worse of all, they became a health hazard as breeding ground for bacteria. I was questioning whether I truly needed to upgrade to a fancy end grain solid wood board but as soon as I used it once, I knew it was a wonderful investment for the home chef. Having something so lovely on the counter also forces you to take proper care of it (oil, wax and repeat). Beautiful craftsmanship from a local family-run business that deserves our support! A good knife, a cast iron pan, and a Deer Park cutting board. Those 3 things are all you really need. Take good care of them and they will last you forever.

We haven’t yet given the cutting board to our son and daughter-in-law, but it is lovely. I like color and smoothness and it should last for many years. It was so nice to actually talk with a person when ordering! Samantha helped when US customs slowed shipping (sorry Canada), and we received the cutting board in plenty of time.
