MTB TPU TUBE PRESTA

Unfortunately, I had a 26" tube go bad on me. The issue "likely" was less than perfect rim tape, where I had a scrunched, longitudinal ridge in the tape due to it being wider than ideal for my rim. I believe the tube filled every cranny of that ridge and got stretched further than it could handle, leading to multiple tiny leaks on the inside of the tube over an 18" length. I'm very doubtful this would've happened with a flyweight 125 gram butyl tube. Customer service very graciously is sending me a replacement, but I'll still be retaping my rim before I use that replacement. I've been following tpu tube talk/reviews for a while, now (Tubolito was one of the first main brands and simply over-priced, then there've been a bunch of various on Amazon), and while the benefits are undeniable there are still many negative experiences. It's obvious these are due to cheap construction - valve stem issues - and too thin material. These Bike Tube Brand tubes are excellent quality and heavier than the others. For 26" these are 75 grams versus 60 grams and perhaps less for the others. My recommendation would be for Bike Tube Brand to offer even heavier weights - 90-100 grams? - as I think these are still "fragile" and require special consideration in comparison to even flyweight butyl tubes.

Customer love the portability of the product. Great option for folks that find true tubeless a hardship and desire something better than butyl rubber tubes.
