Dulcie - a classic

I love the style of this skirt and plan to make it in some lovely wool and cupro lining next autumn. It's currently mid summer so I may also try it in a heavyweight linen first. It deserves high quality fabrics and zips and it is perfect for when you need to dress well for work. The instructions have a lot of proper tailoring techniques which I'm looking forward to learning as I'm currently teaching myself to sew. I'm very happy I bought this skirt pattern. There is nothing else like it that I've seen. I had it printed in A0 from a fabric store. The A4 home printout didn't exactly match the measurements on the test grid and the pages look difficult to match up, so I don't want to chance it.

classic skirt for your closet

I absolutely love the skirt and the instructions, but I had some difficulty with the final section. I ended up turning to the YouTube video for help (which I highly recommend, by the way!). The video includes extra tips and finishing techniques that really helped make my skirt feel more polished and well-made. There is some hand sewing involved, but I really enjoy the process, and I learned a lot of new skills. I can’t wait to make more skirts using this pattern!

Excellent pattern

I found the instructions for this pattern very easy to follow. The lining came out beautifully, I appreciated the extra steps for making it a very clean finish. The fit was also spot on for me, with no modifications. Overall I really enjoyed the instructions and the finish product, I’d definitely recommend Bella loves patterns and am eager to try another one!
