Little Links

I was disappointed in these. I have been a vegetarian for nearly 40 years and a complete vegan for about 7 years, so I have a lot of experience with Loma Linda and Worthington products. I generally like them --especially the frozen Wham and other faux meat rolls--but it seems like the formulations on some products have changed over the years (as well as the sizes of the cans!) These Little Links are very salty (and I love salt). I almost want to soak them in plain cold water before using them--the way people use to soak salt-pork back in the day. I can get past that because, like I said, I am a salt lover and have a higher tolerance for it than most people, but I know it isn't good for anyone to have that much. But aside from that, they honestly just don't taste like sausages. I enjoy the flavor and texture of the Morning Star brand of breakfast sausage and hoped these would be similar. They aren't even close. These taste, at best, like tiny hotdogs. (If you like very salty hotdogs.) I hope someone will look into improving the texture and adding some of the flavors associated with sausage (fennel maybe?) and at least cut out about half the salt! I still eat them, but not for breakfast sausage. I'm treating them more like Vienna sausages.
