Stunning Purple!

I made six kit guitars last year that I finished with stain and wipe on poly. Four with Northwest Amber stain. For this Harley Benton lefty Strat style kit I wanted a rich purple colour so I thought I would try a spray nitro finish. It was a different experience as I was in my garage suitably protected with the doors open. It was cold, not ideal conditions but I’m very happy with my outcome. I made a few mistakes so It wouldn’t stand up close scrutiny but far from a failure. The excess paint on the headstock ran to form quite an interesting design! I think I gave six coats which has given a deep vibrant purple which was exactly what I wanted. I finished with clear lacquer. Another great Northwest finishing product.
