I’ve tried these before (via a friend) and I really like them on tenor. I also purchased an alto reed and don’t like it as much. I might a softer one.

tenor sax on bass clarinet
I recently came across a suggestion on one of Michael Lowenstern’s web pages. He suggested trying a Legere tenor sax reed, French cut, on a bass clarinet. The reed fits just fine on the clarinet mouthpiece. I am the owner of a new Backun Alpha bass clarinet playing with a Fobes mouthpiece. I felt the tenor reed (2.00) played a bit easier and sounded a little brighter than the bass clarinet Legeres.

The tenor reed is just as fantastic as the alto reed!
I have been an alto sax French cut user for around 3 years now, and I am playing a tenor piece at my senior recital, so I was excited to order the French cut for tenor sax. I play it with a TL3 and an Optimum ligature, and it has a fantastic sound. I feel like I have lots of control over my classical playing. Very happy with this purchase!
