Seals the eye but hard to get out
I went from using sports tape to seal my eyes at night to this. The difference is huge. It does seal the eye when correctly put. I have a hard time getting it out the next morning, though. I have to use a hot shower and soap to get the tape out without losing any eyelashes. I really wish the removal process were easier. I like working out in the mornings, but now I have to take a shower to get these out and then another shower after working out.
I have found it seals the eye well, though, so I will keep using it cos I need that!

I have used eye tapes (a different brand) for a couple of years. I like these better as they are softer and fit over the eye easier. The price is a bit higher but not significant.

These have helped me significantly. I will admit, it’s a little disconcerting at first to have your eyes taped shut—especially if you need to get up in the middle of the night, are traveling, or find yourself in an unfamiliar room. But you do get used to it. And it certainly beats waking up with dry, painful eyes.
A couple of things I’ve noticed:
While they do help keep my eyes closed, they still seem to open slightly during the night. I’ve actually woken up with the tape partially separated and evidence of tears leaking onto it. That said, I’m assuming I’m doing something wrong.
These are also extremely sticky and can pull on both my eyelids and eyelashes. (So much for lash extensions. Sigh.) To reduce the adhesive strength, I stick the tape to my inner forearm before applying it. That takes some of the “grab” out of it.
Even with that adjustment, my eyes still seem to open a bit while I sleep, allowing tears to escape. It leaves a cloudy eye-shaped imprint on the tape. Sometimes the moisture makes the tape soggy enough that it begins to lift in the middle and around the edges, although it never completely comes off. I usually just press it back down and go back to sleep.
So I’ve ended up with a bit of a “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation: remove some of the adhesive first and risk the tape lifting during the night, or apply it at full strength and deal with it tugging on my eyelids when I remove it in the morning.
That said, I’m sure at least some of this is user error. For now, though, this has been the best solution I’ve found—and believe me, I’ve tried just about everything.
