I depend on this!
I use red mulch on my tomatoes every year. It provides multiple benefits—weed suppression, more even watering resulting in less blossom end rot, and easy cleanup at the end of the season. I don’t know if my tomatoes ripen faster because I refuse to try the no-red-mulch comparison.
