Gibbous Side-Loading Nalgene Cage

A rare swing-and-a-miss for VO in my opinion. While the design *looks* elegant, and accomplishes side-loading well… It does not secure a full Nalgene well at all. Perhaps mine arrived bent, but a standard Nalgene fits loosely with gaps all around every surface, leaving me far less than confident in its grip for a ride around town let alone touring. The Mojave cage has such a great reputation that this has left me very disappointed. The tubing it is constructed from is very svelte, notably smaller in diameter than my other stainless cages from brands like wolf tooth or king cage. This makes it easy to bend, meaning I was able to get a slightly tighter fit on my bottle for about one ride before it went back to loose. For now, I have it mounted with spacers behind it so I can run a ski strap to secure my bottle. Ultimately, I feel I wasted money on this purchase and will be replacing it with another model with more robust tubing and better bottle retention.
