Extremely well build
I am planning on purchasing the rear Velo orange rear hub and and already have a generator hub for the front and I am really liking the quality of these rims. I also like the fact they are tubeless which makes me really happy to try tubeless tires for a commuting set up. I am also very grateful to the Velo Orange for answering all my questions and concerns with all honesty and without promises that would not be concrete. So, I will have these wheels build in the next couple of months and will get follow up review but I can say that based on my other experiences with all the other components I have purchased from Velo Orange, I expect this rims to be of great quality.

As opposed to certain other wheel makers, this turned up promptly and in good condition.👍👍👍

Durable and nice looking
Update: I've now put 7500 km on this wheelset and the rims need replaced (see added picture). Being on my commuter, I do ride them loaded down and in all weather conditions. They've remained true this entire time, none of the eyelets have come loose, and overall have been pretty much bomb proof. They have, however, worn considerably on the brake tracks; with both the front and rear wheels exhibiting similar wear. With no wear indicators built into the rims, I e-mailed VO, and was told to replace them when "the brake surface is not flat anymore and is visually concaved." Sage advice and I believe I am at/past this point. I'm going to leave my review at 5-stars; being on my commuter these wheels have been continually put away wet and dirty. I'm sure that ever-present grit is what has wreaked havoc on the brake tracks. If it's any testament, I've replaced these rims with a set of new VO ones. I built a set of wheels with these for my commuter bike. I used a Son 28 Dynamo for the front hub and a VO 11sp cassette rear hub. I absolutely love the look of the boxed profile with the steel eyelets and despite riding them daily through all kinds of weather the polish has remained on them. They've also remained true and stop well with standard pads in both rain and dry. VO rates them for use with 38mm and up tires, but I've been running them tubeless with both 32mm GP5000's, 35mm GP5000 AS, and 32mm Conti Spike 120. I've had no issue with either of these tires being ran tubeless on these rims. As an example of fit, I rode a flatted rear GP5000 for 2 mi to get to a parking lot and the tire's bead never detached or rolled off the wheel's hook system. These are a solid buy for both appearance, fit and most importantly function.
