I love Imperial yeast! The Tartan worked wonderfully and made an awesome Scotch Ale.

This is my first experience with Imperial yeast. Mail ordered; cost with shipping is high (N.B. I had picked up a nearly $200.00 order from the Milwaukee store in September and found that saved me about $90.00 over their advertised "free" shipping). The Tartan pack was five week old when received, three months and a week (refrigerated) when I brewed with it. I stepped it up once with 30 oz. of my home canned wort. I pitched it New Years Eve and it was at high kraeusen by 0900 hrr nest morning! Last night, 5 January, I transferred it to secondary and it had fermented down to 1.001 from its O.G. 1.056! It tasted just like a Scottish ale is s'posed to! I'll certainly consider Imperial yeast in future, would recommend it highly.
