Best Knives Ever

I bought these for my husband as a gift and he loves them. They are so sharp and good looking too. He takes such great care of them. He loves to show me how they work.

First, I agree with many reviewers who were surprised at the size of the block itself, but I have ample counter space so it’s not an issue for me and the block is a beautiful piece of wood and actually looks great with my cabinets’ finish. The kioves themselves are almost dangerously sharp. I ordered a stamped set first and was disappointed in the lack of heft and sturdy feel. Not so these forged beauties. The balance and heft are remarkable for a set at this price point. The variety of knives cover most of my needs ( I have a nice cleaver), and I love the prep knife- so versatile. Using them is a joy, whether deboning, trimming a pineapple or making salads. I hand wash, immediately dry and return them to the block- honestly, for protection of the knives and protection of whom ever might absentmindedly reach into the drying rack and cut off a finger. I can only say that I wish I had the money to buy these (and my AlClad5 ply cook set, also top notch) 30 years ago because I would still have them and would have enjoyed using them all this time. I highly recommend this functional and attractive set to anyone who enjoys cooking on a little higher level and wants commensurate performance from their kitchen tools.
