HP-8v2 Mini Block Plane

Quality

This is my 3rd block plane and 1st of the version 2 and I have to say I love it more than version 1.the only thing I would change is the opening of the mouth is wider than the iron and I know why but there is so much engineering thought in these tools I feel like a tapered iron would achieve the same result. The way it is now the iron is narrower than the opening so you can angle the iron left or right and a wider iron with tapered like 1.5 at the bevel .75 up from the bevel and taper to . 5 to the depth screw. Hope that makes sense and maybe help.

Well made. Excellent craftsmanship with a really nice feel in the hand. Works nicely once it is properly sharpened. Especially like the side rails for control
