They are functional and work well. Great quality.

Excellent dumbbells for heavier lifter who wants to save space and budget.

These are excellent dumbbells. I'm very happy with them. Pros: - You can quickly adjust the weight. - For an adjustable weight, it's compact and doesn't need a cradle like some of the "dial a weight" dumbbells. - Well build (you would have trouble breaking these). - They can be excellently priced when you catch a good sale. Cons: - Some minor noise when moving the dumbbells. It's not annoying at all, it's just there. - The dumbbells are slightly wider than conventional dumbbells because they need to be able to stack and pull apart. - I have large hands (XL gloves) and my knuckles sometimes brush up against the tubes that hold the 2.5 lb weights (just under the handles). I was concerned this would become annoying, but it hasn't really bothered me.

These dumbbells are worth the hype. First couple workouts I was super happy with the overall feel and handling. Sturdy and smooth to adjust. While I have to admit, Northern fitness shipping time was questionable (took a month) the company has amazing customer service. If you aren’t in a rush, great spot to buy.
