I have several nakiri, some that feel like heavy cleavers and others that are a little bit thinner. I also have them in double edge and single edge styles. Having said that, I will say that my first impression of this knife is that is absolutely excellent. Very thin blade that is very sharp. The fish scale pattern that is traditional in Japan was a nice touch and works well. Because of its thinness it goes through vegetables especially root vegetables with incredible ease compared to a regular width the curry such as Kamikoto. This was an excellent purchase.

This knife is just mid and overpriced. I thought at the sale price it could be a good deal, even though it got miced reviews, but avoid. The handle feels cheap, and its not sharp out of the box. Just did a side by side tomato test with a $12 kitchen aid knife i bought at a grocery store that has been run though the dishwasher dozens of times and it was about the same. Going too see if sharpening helps but I am disappointed and wish i could return.

Milkstreet Nakiri
We have been loving the Nakiri, it is great for prepping vegetables. Super sharp and well balanced. Really comfortable to use.
