Recently purchased one of the new Black rods. Nice touch to offer this rod. The colors typically used were a bit gaudy for my taste. The rod handles all the flies I use very well, except for the really big dudes for anadromous fish. Nice Job, Epic!

Pleasantly surprised

Fished my new rod for the first time this weekend and I was surprised how much I like it. First, it a beautiful rod. The finish and hardware are top quality and I've never experienced ferrules with quite the fit this rod has, even on $1000 rods. It's a pleasure to cast and the action is impressive, more like a top-of-the-line graphite. It had plenty of backbone to handle fighting and landing every fish I caught. If I buy another flyrod, it will surely be an Epic. Thanks for a great rod.

Quality a Priority

I received my rod as an anniversary gift from my wife. When it arrived it had a minor cosmetic issue...according to my own high standards. Considering the sentimental keepsake value of the gift, I wanted to make sure the rod would last a lifetime. I contacted customer care to ask if there was a concern, or if I was being too picky. ...Without hesitation they informed me they would ship me a replacement section, at their costs, to Canada. This is the sort of response from a company deserves praise. I hope to further support this company in the future. Lifetime customer confirmed. For the rod, being winter I cannot give it a full test. I did try it out in the backyard. With a double taper line it casts like a dream. It is hard to describe, you have to feel it. Modern fiberglass brings joy back to casting.
