This is my second 411 that I've built; one for a customer and one for myself. The popularity of micro spey rods/trout spey rods, whatever you want to call them, has exploded but I haven't quite cast a rod as smooth and effortless as this one. The combination of light weight, power, and fishibility is the whole package. Much like the entire lineup of Epic rods, the control of line is incredible whether you're trying to cast a tight loop directly into the wind or open it up for streamer fishing. So far, I've had a 300 and 330 gr. skagit and scandi head on this model and both work very well paired with a textured running line. For my needs, 100+ feet casts aren't necessary and the length of this rod helps mend the floating running line. However, it's capable of those distances, no doubt. If you're in the market for a trout spey, don't overlook this rod. Even if you're not in the market for one, get one and don't pass up the opportunity to have a ton of fun. Highly recommended!

This DH11 is amazing ! Here is a light two handed rod for trout and graylings !! the perfect line is a 263 grains for a 30 feet long head. The blank offer delicate presentation and with no surprise a good amount of power if needed. Perfect for a not too windy day. Thanks Epic team !
