HP-6FX Mini Multi-Plane

Excellent packaging as usual. “Quality is Contagious” is more thatn a slogan or motto. It is a mission statement and a point of pride. I love the whole HP-6 series and this plane is AMAZING! I took advantage of the opportunity to get the plane with all sole/iron profiles. Great set!

Beautiful but fiddly

This is exquisitely made and finished, though a bit fiddly to use. I did finally get it sharp, which helped tremendously. I bought this to fine tune splines for splined Mitered boxes, though I tried a couple of rabbets too. This does need to compete with a Veritas rabbet plane and my ancient (but trusty) Stanley #55! At some point I am sure that I will add some of the radius kits, though by the time this happens I will have enough $$ invested to rival my Lie-Nielson collection... not inexpensive tools...

This plane is absolutely beautiful. It is precise as can be. It has every feature you could need/want. It is just at home in your hand as it is on the shelf looking good. Expensive, yes, but like everything else… you get what you pay for!
