Soles Only: Elite Chargers Leather Edition

Fantastic!

I have never owned sandals I could resole before, but I was able to remove the old ones and install the new ones without too much trouble. I am also thrilled that these are made in the US. I know it probably costs more, but I'm willing to pay the difference. As far as the soles themselves go, I switched from the ultra grip to leather. I think they're about as grippy as the ultra grip in warm weather, but less in cold weather (less moisture in your feet to help with adhesion). They are INCREDIBLY comfortable! I wasn't prepared for how soft they'd feel. If highly recommend these if you are looking for everyday comfort. Maybe go with the ultra grip soles if you expect to be in the cold or rain often.

To start with I purchased an inexpensive pair of needle nose pliers from harbor freight. I found taking off the old straps was more difficult than it appeared in the video. I think this is because the material had hardened over time making it difficult too squeeze through the holes. The slotted areas were the hardest. I actually cut open the slotted with a razor blade to free up the connector. Putting the straps onto the new sole was'nt too bad but had to pull pretty hard and feared the material might break. Finally succeeded... New sandals at half the price. Would do it again. On a different note I have had both leather soles and the other material. Not sure what it is called. Leather is the way to go.
