excellent, but the left is different from the right
I wanted to wait a year to write an honest review.
I have very wide feet at the metatarsal heads and heels. And these are among the rare barefoot shoes I can wear without major discomfort. They're very wide at first glance, but they're well-structured and made with the right materials to keep them from looking ugly. They snugly wrap around the heel, and the heel doesn't slip. The sole is made of soft rubber with great grip, even in wet conditions.
Unfortunately, they're too soft because, after quickly removing them once with my other foot, the stitching on the sole broke in two places. I had to re-glue it, so I recommend everyone remove their shoes by hand only.
The insole is quite flat, and for me, it's essential not to have raised edges on the sides so I can use the full surface area possible, including my heels. Unfortunately, the insole fabric comes apart at the sides after just a few uses; they definitely need improvement.
However, there's one detail that's not quite right, which I've discussed with the company. They don't consider it a flaw, but I do. The leather above the toes of the left shoe only, after just a few days (maximum 10 uses of 2-4 hours each), started to crease, making it look very unattractive. I'm posting photos to illustrate, but I assure you, it's even worse in person. The right shoe looks as new as a baby's skin, while the left one looks like it's been worn for four years, like the skin of a 100-year-old. After a year, it's even worse. The company told me it could be because my toes don't fit properly inside, but obviously I should see the same thing on the right shoe as well. Furthermore, in all the review photos I've seen, I don't see anyone with this problem. Two different types of leather were used, perhaps unintentionally; I don't blame anyone, but this is the result. So far, the worst thing is that I only wear these shoes on Sundays or when going out, not every day, so as not to make them look worse. But every time I look at my feet, I feel a pang of sadness, because I see two different shoes: one fantastic, the other simply ugly. Considering the price (the highest I've paid for 1 pair of barefoot), I think anyone would feel the same way.
I offered to return just the left shoe, but Wide only gave me a discount of one shoe on my next order. I would give 4 stars for what has been said, but the disappointment every time I look down makes me give 3. Anyway, I would recommend them.
So, good, but not too good.
