Tried my new Leaf...
Tried my new Leaf for a head shave this morning. I used 2 blades, middle and upper. Very comfortable and very close without any nicks or cuts. You have to set the razor head on your skin (the pivoting will lead you) then use longer strokes. Very effective around tricky areas around ears, hair swirl around the crown and the occipital bone. Understanding head shape, irregularities and growth patterns is more important than endless strokes. Let the razor do the work and let its weight carry it as you work. A light touch is all that is needed. Break your head into quadrants, I have 5, 2 sides, top split in half and back. If right handed, use a pencil grip for quadrants favoring your right arm. I didn't spend significant time shaving. I like to use baby oil on my skin (I react to most commercial preparations) with lather on top. The oil leaves sufficient lubrication for end-of-shave touchups. This is an outstanding tool and I'll likely buy another for my face. Awesome solution to get away from expensive cartridges.

I don't hate shaving anymore!
I hated shaving my legs. I tried so many different things, waxing, tweezing, fresh razors, butters, soaps etc and my legs were always irritated and had ingrown hairs. I only ever shaved when I had to because it was so unpleasant. I bought this just to save some money over the years. I was so surprised when it felt like gliding butter across my skin and I didn't have strawberry legs after. I still do get irritation when I shave my inner thighs and bikini lines but it's still better than what I had before. I find it hard to nick myself with myself with this razor but it is possible (shaving over moles or being careless). I have had this razor for 3 months and would recommend of if your legs get irritated easily.

Finally the perfect razor for head shaving.
Finally the head shave I was looking for. I tried different safety razors hoping to stop buying disposable blades, but I just couldn't get anything that shaved smooth, clean, and easily for my entire head. This leaf checks the boxes. It shaves better than disposables. It shaves cleaner and easier than a traditional safety razor. And, of course, it uses safety blades snapped in half. I tried the leaf blades that were included and had a decent shave. I tried Feathers, Astras, and a few others from my stash. I would say that the Leaf blades also cut very well, almost imperceptible to the other brands I had an hand. I also tried using two or three blades, and for me, I got the best shave with all three blades loaded. I would add that picking up a rubber grip for the handle really helped with control. My search is over, and I have enough blades to last me at least a year. I'm really tempted to try the new model Leaf.
