Unpaste Tooth Tabs - Zero Waste Toothpaste - With OR Without Fluoride, Vegan, Compostable

The ZWS ships items without the use of plastic packaging, opting instead for a simple cardboard box and paper-based packaging tape which is a relief and true to the spirit of the "zero waste" mission. I ordered the fluoride-containing toothpaste tablets because as a public health professional, I really appreciate what fluoride has done for dental health on a population-scale and I would like to reap those benefits personally. This is a frequent issue I've had when searching for plastic-free toothpaste alternative: most are fluoride free. I LIKE fluoride, I am quite comfortable with the safety evidence to use it as toothpaste, I just want to reduce my plastic waste. I was so relieved to find a fluoride-containing plastic-free toothpaste option. I really hope it is continued to be carried by the brand. Now to find a plastic-free antiperspirant that contains aluminum salts... This was my first experience with a solid toothpaste, and the learning curve was pretty minimal. The "dosing" is just right- I felt the proportion of toothpaste in a single tab was a great amount to brush with. It was not overwhelming and it felt like enough to get clean. I do appreciate the foam though I know it is not necessary: it helps the experience feel familiar to what I already know, which makes the transition from a paste to a tablet easier. Something I found disconcerting about using this toothpaste: it leaves a "sweet" aftertaste. Looking through the ingredients, I see they include both stevia and vanilla which I assume it the cause. While stevia doesn't seem to promote cavity-causing bacteria like sugar does, it still is unnerving, as the taste of "sweet" makes me feel like my teeth aren't clean. I finish brushing my teeth and am left feeling/thinking I need to brush because there is a sugary taste in my mouth. I don't want to rinse as leaving the fluoride on my teeth helps it be more effective. This is a downside to using this toothpaste. Overall, a serviceable product. I am VERY grateful to have a plastic-free toothpaste option that retains fluoride as an active ingredient. Until I find another plastic-free fluoride brand that is less sweet, I will stick with this product.

This is honestly the best toothpaste I have ever used. My mouth always feels super clean. Love that it’s cruelty free and the packaging is compostable!

Tooth paste tabs

My daughter gave me some of ZWS tooth-tabs. It felt odd at first to use them. I chew it lightly so I can smear it around on my teeth. Then I distribute it a bit more with the brush head (SURI). Then I turn on the brush and enjoy! They are great where I have tea stain. I use the fluoride. Great dental check-ups!
