If you're at the boundary of two sizes in terms of the measurements given in the table, go to the bigger size. I bought a small based on measurements but it was too small and I had to buy another. Having said that, once you have the right size, the belt is nice and light and is surprisingly comfortable to wear. It does give you more confidence to do what you want to do!
