Great Rod Carrier, but...

I bought this rod carrier because its made by Yakima, my go to for my car carrying needs. I love that I can pull out a fully rigged rod and get in the water quickly. I also like that the rods, with reels, sit on their sides so the stripping guide doesn't get stressed during transport, especially on those bumpy back roads. Install is super simple. It takes 10 minutes to install if I have to remove it. I would have given it a 5 star review but there is no option to extend the carrier out to 11 or 11.5 feet. It will carry rods up to 10 feet, but I have several Euro Nymphing rods that are 10+ feet (10'2" and 11'). I would imagine a simple 1.5' extension could be easily designed to be installed between the two long sections or at the rod tip end. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this will be an option in the future that I can add on to my existing carrier (hint, hint)! Thanks to Yakima for the great product, great price and great service!

Bomb proof

Installation was incredibly easy especially with the helpful YouTube videos. I couldn’t be happier. After years of breaking rods down or opening the back truck window and sliding the rods through, the DoubleHaul is an absolute godsend. It makes getting ready so easy. I can have all my rods ready to go with quick and easy access. It makes prep for the river so easy and effortless. Wish I’d got it sooner!

Rod saver

Being a professional fly fishing guide I don’t know how I survived this long without this product. Trying to store rods inside the car usually means sooner or later one will be broken. Time saved by fully setup rods means your clients get more for their money.
