OPENROAD 270 Free Standing Awning for Camping-Adventure Series

I ordered the OPENROAD 270 Free Standing Awning for Camping-Adventure Series passenger side to put on my Rav4 Hybrid to elevate my camping adventures. I wanted something reliable and easy to whip out and this is definitely that. It free stands by itself really nicely and the cover it zips up into has plenty of wiggle room, so it is not a bear to roll back away. I am 5' 6" and comfortably walk under it, my 6' roommate could also comfortably walk under it in between the support bars. This is relevant only for others considering mounting it onto a smaller SUV like mine. I drilled a single hole into my OEM Toyota cross bars (use multiple size drill bits to assure a clean and easy hole stays centered, gradually work your way up to the correct size diameter, create a pilot hole with a small bit to start). It didn't appear to weaken them and I will continue to monitor it. The cross bars are hallow in the middle, but filled in closer to where they attach to the vehicle. The kit comes with 3 brackets, since I only had two cross bars to attach to, I doubled up on the front cross bar since I feel it would receive the most resistance/abuse. I cannot open my hatch back all of the way, but I knew that going into the purchase. I added some cushioning to the bar that would come in contact with my hatchback in case a friend opens the gate without monitoring it to reduce the change of a bad scratch on the vehicle's paint job. My next project is to assemble the Rig'd (swing arm) ramble swing pro and flip down table to be able to grill or tailgate remotely anywhere rain or shine with the setup.

No instructions on either 270 canopy or side walls, had to figure it out my self, YouTube videos didn't really show much on the brackets installation for my box cargo carrier, but the 270 canopy and side walls are great now that I have them on. The material is a fine quality. The lighting system is perfect.

There are a couple of things that was not done right on my 270 awning the rivette in the front of the middle arm where the awning is attach to the arm came un attached and the spots were the t bolts go in were bare aluminum, not painted or anodized
