Great set of matcha
I recently had the opportunity to try this Yame single-cultivar matcha set, and I’m excited to share my thoughts on each of the matcha varieties.
Seimei: This matcha has a mellow and light flavor, making it easy to drink and a great choice for beginners.
Okumidori: This matcha is very smooth and well-balanced. It has a slightly nutty flavor and is easy to drink, making it a great option for everyday matcha.
Kirari: This matcha is very aromatic and has a bold flavor with low bitterness. It’s my favorite from this set because of its aromatic, umami, and nutty flavors.
Yabukita: This matcha has a toasty flavor similar to dark roast espresso, but with very low bitterness. It’s a great choice for matcha latte lovers.
Overall, these are all great matcha varieties, and I highly recommend this set to matcha lovers who enjoy trying different cultivars.
Here’s my recipe for matcha coconut (cold whisk - no warm water needed):
- 4 grams of matcha
- 65 ml of oat milk (Califia Barista Blend)
- 115 ml of coconut water (I use Harmless Harvest/Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut Water)
- No sweetener needed

Great Starter Sampling Pack
If you know you like matcha but maybe not 100% certain on what kind (flavor profiles), this is a great starting point. There is enough matcha in each bag to try each blend a few times, but I will say if you like stronger matcha these may not be for you. As someone who prefers bolder flavors I only liked the Bold and Deep Roast from this set. The quality of all of them however is fantastic, Naoki never disappoints in that department.

Fantastic Variety!
I LOVED this set! Each matcha was so unique and delicious. My personal favorite would have to be the Kirari. It's rich with umami taste, definitely hits the hazelnut and brown butter notes. I could not stop thinking about that one after I tried it. Highly recommend!
