L500

Bill and Becky Wilde pickups are the only pickups I trust. Because it's the only way to get the best bang for your Humbucker. These babies sound as sharp as they look. Other twin blades sound fine, but they have more of a tin can sound to me. These have heft without sounding dull or sludgy. And they look way more slick with that ring around it. Especially next to my all ebony, no inlay fretboard. I'm so excited just typing about it, I gotta go play that thing right now!

This is my second set of 500l and 500xl pickups. This set seems to have a lot of output and the XL mid mid/highs are really pronounced in the way that you might think would only come from an active pickup. Most importantly of all, they are very quiet pickups. I dont get any excess ambient buzz, and very little when around large draw devices like amps, heaters, and stuff like that. So if you enjoy a high output pickup that is brighter to maintain clarity, and still has good dynamics the XL is fantastic. The L in the neck is a very full sound without being muddy or loose. It is on the brighter side with a prominent mid mid/high bump. The lows are there but again not overpowering. I think both pickups do a really good job of naturally rolling off the highs so it never sounds piercing or shrill. I love the sound, the price, the look, and supporting a small business that is carrying on the work of a Titan in the industry. I only wish there were 7 and 8 string models available.
