Awesome Hardware, Rough Onboarding

Once it’s working, the Spark Control X is fantastic. Rock solid, responsive, reliable, and a total game changer that does exactly what I want, and it makes the Spark 2 way more usable. The problem is the initial experience. The setup process was absolutely brutal. I had to update the Spark 2 MCU twice via USB before the app would even detect the Control X so I could update its firmware. Look, I'm an engineer and it still took me close to 3 hours to get to a usable state. If I were PositiveGrid, I'd be really worried about that. Anyway, after that, it's been flawless and genuinely awesome. If PG fixes the firmware state devices ship with and improves the update flow, this is an easy 5/5.
