Upgrading a Squire Tele
I got a Squire Tele Affinity a few years ago, fully stock. Never played one before, but it was one of those where the neck and overall feel just hit the spot. I changed out the pots and pups but it sounded worse than what it had. I was looking at a Billy Gibbons SD for the bridge and searching for a neck pup. AI suggested a Porter 9T. Never heard of them but went to the website and listened to the samples and loved what I heard. Ordered the set, and I couldn't be more pleased with them. I love the tone and spank when pushed. These are well built, and well packaged. Shipping was reasonable and quick. I'm sure I'll be a repeat customer.

Bridge 9T for the win!
I built a Tele with just this pickup and LP Jr V/T wiring. Pushing a drive sound to taste has been the starting point. The real magic is how the pickup interacts with the volume control for a range of clean to crunch sounds. On ten , ripping away, each note is clear and present. The more I play it, the more I love it.

Perfection
Another brilliant pickup from Porter. After installing the 9T in the neck position, I decided to pair it with the 9T bridge—and I’m glad I did. These stacked P90s are incredibly versatile and feel perfectly dialed-in right from the start. No matter the genre, they just work. Try them and you’ll love them.
