Clairefontaine Basic My Essential A5 Notebook - Blue, Dot Grid

I'm new to notebooks

This A5 is my first other than A4 that I'm used to. It takes getting used to for me and once underway it's natural. The paper promotes intense ink, and sheen inks are good. I was formerly a black ink user for records, notes, and sketches. I now started cataloguing. The off white color is my biggest point, the writing fits much better with slightly muted contrast and invites colored inks. The paper smoothness is especially good, penmanship gets a plus with the paper. Nibs are freer and the glide I feel makes a pleasurable session.

A Gem

This is the nicest, most useful notebook I've ever owned. Page numbers, index pages, high quality paper, and a joy to write-in.

It's a great notebook, even if the paper is ivory

This is a nice journal and is exactly as described. The cover is an attractive color, isn't bulky, yet is quite rigid and sturdy; there are ample pages and they're numbered, which might come in handy; the paper is excellent quality - thick and smooth, and lovely to write on with a fountain pen. For this, I give it 5 stars. I just wish it were available in happy, white, Clairefontaine, dot grid paper instead of sad ivory!!! My inks and I miss the Quo Vadis Habana notebook, which ticked all of the above boxes.
