How to use?

Hello, I am not sure what I think of the shears. Perhaps I haven’t figured out how to use them yet. I have a small hand so when the shears are fully open, I can barely hold them. If I keep them in my hand constantly that works OK, but doesn’t seem convenient over time. Of course they are sharp & smooth to use, which is a plus. Some tips on how to hold & use would be helpful.
