2026 Gift 3 Months of Curated Artisan Cheese

Fun, but not for me.

I realize I’m one of the very few non 5 star reviews. This cheese subscription was not worth it for me. For about 89 dollars a month, 3 cheeses of varying sizes did not blow me away. I think it’s great that cheese grotto supports small cheese makers that you might not be able to get locally - I’ve learned the i LIKE being able to discover a new cheese- and continue purchasing it. My third box had the most variety of flavors and cheese textures and was the best of all three. So perhaps i just got started during a month the didn’t really meet my cheese tastes. If you can afford this indulgence, try it !! There are other perhaps more pedestrian cheese delivery companies/options with price points that are more reasonable that i will continue to enjoy. It was fun to try something new! The shipping and packaging were top notch. Customer service was also fantastic- those two things alone make the company stand out.

Okay…..nothing mind blowing

I’m really optimistic for my second delivery but found the first to be a little underwhelming. I’ve used other subscription services that felt like a much better value for the price. (AppyHour/Harry and David’s) I received three cheeses. One large slice of Gouda which was very mild tasting, very crumbly/flaky. The wooly goat cheese that had a Brie like exterior was the most exciting option we got. The cheddar was tasty. But very tiny. I do not subscribe with pairings, but had plenty of their suggested pairings at home already. Which were honey, pistachios and….i can’t remember the third suggestion. We did get a ‘free’ add in bonus item. Exciting ! It was a few slices of dried apples. Had it been an additional cheese we would have been thrilled and maybe that added flavor would have led to very different vibes in this review. I did think it was pretty cool that they made tea pairing suggestions. Based on the cheeses received and the price, i am not likely to resubscribe. But im also hoping to eat those words and be WOWd by the next few deliveries.
