I wanted to safe guard my black German Shepherd Dog on our night time walks. I had several close encounters with cars during night time walks with my dog. And so decided to look for some kind of light that could be worn by my dog Ace. The Firefly LED caught my attention when crossed paths with another dog owner one night who had this Firefly LED. what impressed me is that the darker it is outside the better the visibility of tge light. I examined tge other dogs light and liked the build quality. It is not cheaply made. I like the option of two different attaching methods that come with the light. Making for numerous ways to secure the light to your dog. I prefer the clip attached to the dogs collar. I also like the spring loaded quick connect/disconnect mechanism for removing the light from the clip. This light is great! It doesn't blind the dog when he is wearing it. Yet at the same time emits a night time glow that is seen very well from a distance. The Firefly light also comes with a USB charging cable and on one charge it last for many night time walks. I'm very pleased with the light. It doesn't seem to bother the dog and overall I am very pleased with it. The way it is built it seems like it will last a long time. It seems very durable. While the Firefly light is capable of many different color light as well as flashing. I kind of like the steady on red light. It really shines through the darkness and I feel it does help protect my dog. I'm happy I bought this light.

Protection From Coyotes

We live on a mountaintop in the Great Smoky Mtns and share the forest with coyotes, wild cats and owls... all little doggie predators. After losing a puppy recently to a coyote, we had to get serious about protecting our dogs during our first and last walk of the day... both of which are in the dark during the Fall & Winter of the year. The Baydog Firefly LED Light fits on our dogs' collars and we turn on the flashing light setting so it flashes red, green, blue, yellow & bright white. Not only can we track the dogs movement on the trail during our walks in the dark, but the strong, bright ever changing & flashing lights must be a deterrent to predators... from a distance, the flashing lights looks like eyes that must freak-out any animal looking from afar! (Mind you, we now make very loud gun-like noise before starting our walk so our predator deterrent strategy is a two-pronged approach.) Nevertheless, the very bright, flashing Firefly light is a great deterrent and I now feel confident we're protecting our 4-legged, furry family members from very real forest predators. Great light!

Love the various color settings, it's easy to use and the battery lasts a very long time. Definitely a recommended item for those nightly walks.
