Disappointing, and misleading information
I sought out this brand at the recommendation of the hospital that did my lumbar surgery and a friend who bought one of the same brand. I called and spoke to a customer rep at length who gave me misinformation about the size of the flat back pad, saying it was much larger than it actually is. She also suggested I was buying top-of-the-line by buying the Kodiak machine rather than the polar cube and that she would match the price which was a very little difference but still very good business appeal. When I received the shipment which I got paid $30 extra to expedite shipmentat my choice. I called immediately and they verified by their recorded phone conversation that I had indeed been given the wrong size information by several inches (one of the virtue she doubted of upgrading the Kodiak was getting a much bigger backpad), and offered to swap the back pad to a larger pad that was, however, irregular in shape as opposed to the rectangular shape that would better cover my lumbar surgery incision site. I opted to keep the pad I had and was told I could not return anything after it was opened. I accepted that risk and tried the machine several times. As anyone who has looked into this knows, it’s a little tricky to put water and ice and frozen ice bottles and ice packs and so forth in the machine to get it working, but not impossible. However, the pad was very uncomfortable at the site of my surgery. Incision: the little “bubbles” on the pad for lack of a better word through which the cold water circulates pressed into the incision site and caused pain. After several different tries in several different positions l, I have put the machine in the closet and chalked it up to a bad purchasing decision. There was no reason to call the company back because they said there were no returns. I do not recommend this machine without carefully evaluating if the pad is suitable for whatever your surgery or recovery is from.. $200 down the drain. AND unlike me I would verify with another representative and or on the website that what they’re telling you about the pads is true. The only thing I’m glad is for is that I did not buy the separate foot wrap because that would’ve been another $80 wasted. Be aware there is no on and off switch or remote timer as other brands may offer. You have to unplug it and re-plug it to make it come on a designed deficiency in my estimation, but not a huge one.

Polar Care Kodia
Product arrived on time and I have been using it for 3 weeks. It is easy to operate and works as described. I would recommend getting this as the one the hospital may give you is to time consuming and does not circulate the water though the pad.

Works like a charm!
Saved me from getting up several times a day to get fresh ice. After surgery that's not something that you want to do. I also use it for a sore back. :)
