Love love love this reed!

I wanted to have a reed that I could count on whenever I have to double with my oboe and not worry about it drying out or needing a few notes before warming up. This reed solves that problem and plays beautifully even when “cold”. Makes my EH lower and middle registers speak beautifully! Upper register is acceptable- but my upper register never sounds great anyway and seldom need to play in that range all that much anyway. Stable pitch and projection. I actually enjoy this reed more than my cane reeds! I will always have a Legere EH reed in my case from now on, ready to play! Love it!

A clear, rich, smooth sound!

I had been using a Fibracell for years and recently noticed Légère and decided to try them out. I play Bass Clarinet and tried all three lines - Classic, European and French Cut. I fell in love with ease of play and the clear, smooth, rich sound produced by the European and French Cut. I bought both! I also enjoy the fact that they have a boutique in Toronto. I visited and was so impressed with the staff and their customer service. With all the great jazz clubs, restaurants, spas, sporting events and entertainment in Toronto you can easily book end a visit with a mini vacation. I’m sold on Légère!

Flat english horn reed

Reed supplied was approx 30 cents flat, on shortest bocal. Clipping and scraping as suggested by customer support did not solve problem. Replacement reed had same issue. Many oboe and EH users report similar problems, indicating Legere needs to take a serious look at this. Love to support a Canadian business - but at $150/reed was expecting something useable.
