506 – Adult's Skyline Jacket Pattern

Easy to make, bomber jacket feel...

I made this pattern from Cotton Oilcloth and a Supplex lining, both available from GP as well.I graded the pattern between a medium and large from my upper body to waist and that worked well. The final length has more of a feel of a bomber jacket - lower hem is high, the elastic pulls it snug at the bottom, and the generous arm gussets give a roomy feel to the upper part. Overall really like the result. Oilcloth is VERY pricey, but has a wonderful feel, and not as heavy as waxed canvas.

The instructions were detailed, but as always different sewers have different skills; I found some of the instructions unclear. For example the very first step is to ‘sew the pocket piece to the front’ but it’s not clear whether you sew around the whole pocket, or just the zipper side.
