The opening is honey, but not the overly sweet or syrupy kind. I don’t pick up much spice despite what the notes suggest. I also don't think this smells overly funky or animalic.
As it settles, the honey transforms into something reminiscent of Nag Champa incense (used in many Eastern temples; if you know it, you know it) slightly champaca-floral, with amber and bit of myrrh with powdery qualities. Works better in cold days.
For Western audience, the dry down might feel a bit unique and interesting, but for Eastern audience, this is a familiar perfume if they have used that incense stick.
